Studying tips
Everyone has problems studying and it may be one of the most boring things but it's still something that has to be done so here's some ideas to help.
1. Clear your studying area of any distractions including phones, pets, or anything that will keep you from concentrating
2. Be somewhere quiet (I.e. A rarely used room, your bedroom, etc.)
3. Try reading whatever you have to study out loud. Saying something helps you remember it more than reading it
4. Try playing instrumental music (I.e. Classical music, movie scores, or karaoke versions of slower songs)
5. If you feel overwhelmed take a break (but not too long of one) and come back once you have cooled off. Frustration doesn't help memorization

Author Recommendation
If you liked The Fault in our Stars try some of John Green's other books. You may find you like them even more. :)
Reading Statistics
People who read do better in school and on tests. If /when you have children make an effort to read to them or have them read for at 20 minutes a day as soon as they are able. It could help them succeed for the rest of their life.
Don't fear if you were not a reader as a child. It is never to late to start. Reading benefits people's lives at any age and can be used as a great escape from the stress of the world.
